HUMANITARIAN AID

Relieving pain and suffering

Royal Victoria HospitalBanjul

FoTGA regularly sends medical supplies and equipment to this teaching hospital in the Gambian capital.   They in turn, distribute them to clinics the length and breadth of the country.

Sukuta Clinic

Sukuta Clinic is run by Sister in Charge, Sally Savage (Aunt Sally).  The clinic services 16 villages in the Great Banjul and South Kombo areas.  The population is approximately 40,000 and 60% of this population suffers from extreme poverty.  The majority of the clinic’s patients are pregnant mothers and their babies and young children, although other basic health care is catered for.  FoTGA has had a long association with this clinic providing medical equipment and hospital beds.  FoTGA also funded the building of staff quarters.

Recently the organisation donated a nebuliser machine for asthmatic patients, a ventilator,  baby resuscitators, drugs and bandages to the centre.
