Become a Sponsor

The best way for us to welcome you would be for you to become a sponsor - see Sponsorship section to see if this would suit you:

Support our work by sponsoring a child through school.

But there are a number of other ways you can help:
Use the "Contact Us" link to find out more about
any of the following

Become a Member

For those not wishing to commit to a monthly donation, we offer Membership for £20 a year (£25 for family membership).

You will receive lots of information about the work we do in The Gambia, a copy of our newsletter "Drumbeat", and receive an invitation to our AGM where you will have a vote.

An application form is available at:

What is Membership about?

Membership is available for a small annual fee to anyone who supports the concepts of the charity, but does not feel able to take on the financial burden of sponsorship.

Drumbeat 2020

Members receive a copy of our Drumbeat newsletter.

They are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting where they have the right to vote.

Volunteer some time or become a Trustee

We always need help!

Do you have an area of expertise that would be helpful to us? Or have a special interest that is relevant?

Volunteers are welcome to give as much or as little time as they can spare - any help would be appreciated.

Becoming a Trustee is more serious, as Trustees are responsible for running the Charity.

Normally, Trustees are elected at the AGM for a term of three years, but can offer to stand again then.

With the Covid-19 situation, we have taken to meeting online monthly, instead of having less frequent face to face meetings.

This has worked really well, and saves a huge amount of travelling time by our far flung Trustees.

Or anything you can help with would help.

Become a Fundraiser

The more funds raised, the more work we can do!

What could you do to help? Run a marathon? Run a cake bake!!

We would like to have someone take of the role of Chief Fundraiser, but are also delighted for anyone to do one-off or regular fundraising of any sort. The use of these funds can be chosen by you: for example, general, sponsoring children who have lost their sponsor, helping with further education, building projects, giving rice or oil to families struggling with poverty.

Talk to us for more information.

Make a Donation

One-off or regular donations are always welcomed. You can specify what they are to be used for, or just donate to our general funds.

Remember that if you are a UK tax payer, we can claim Gift Aid from the government at no cost to you as long as you complete and send us a Gift Aid declaration – see our Gift Aid page.

Regular donations are probably the easiest way to help people in The Gambia, set it up once and forget it, knowing that you are regularly helping people!
